Suspects in Staten Island Smoke Shop Murder Caught on Camera

NEW YORK CITY, NY – As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives released surveillance footage of individuals related to an attempted robbery and subsequent shooting on Saturday, at 7:53 p.m.

The incident occurred at a commercial establishment at 444 Manor Road.

The video shows the suspects trying to access a smoke shop on Richmond Avenue before heading to Manor Road.

During the attempted robbery, a firearm was discharged, killing a 35-year-old store employee named Bassam Khateeb of 1410 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island.

The suspects fled the scene in a red/maroon Jeep Cherokee. The NYPD is urging anyone with information to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline.
