Walden Man Convicted in Fatal Road Rage Trial

ORANGE COUNTY, NY – Anthony Jones, a 26-year-old from Walden, was found guilty on all charges, including Manslaughter in the Second Degree and Assault in the Second and Third Degrees on Monday.

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler stated that Jones could face up to 15 years in prison for Manslaughter and an additional 7 years for the Assault charges. Sentencing is set for October 11.

On August 4, 2021, around 7:00 p.m., Jones, driving a Ford Escape on State Route 17, collided with a van carrying eight passengers.

This collision resulted in three fatalities and injuries to five other occupants of the van. Investigation by the New York State Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office found Jones’ actions to be the cause of the incident.

Jones was arrested nearly a year later, on September 12, 2022.
