Armed Standoff in Laurel Leads to Two Arrests

LAUREL, MD – On the morning of Wednesday, at about 8:30 a.m., officers reported to the 3300 block of Corridor Marketplace in Laurel.

A dispute between two individuals escalated when one pulled out a handgun from his waistband, aiming it at the other.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a semi-automatic firearm on one subject.

Additionally, 34 suspected Alprazolam pills, packaged individually, were discovered on the other subject.

The arrested individuals are identified as Daviean Beckford, 42, from Laurel, Maryland (for possession of the handgun) and Tevin Divon Poole, 30, also from Laurel (for possession of CDS).
