Man Slashed With Box Cutter in Anti-LGBTQIA+ Assault

FDNY Ambulance on scene to provide medical assistance to victims.

NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Tuesday, August 1, around 2:50 pm, an assault incident unfolded at Cranberry Street and Willow Street in Brooklyn.

The New York City Police Department reports that an unidentified person targeted a 21-year-old male with anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks.

The aggressor then brandished a box cutter, injuring the young man’s hand.

The assailant quickly left, heading north towards Old Fulton Street. Medical personnel transported the injured victim to NYU Langone Hospital/Cobble Hill.

The Police Department seeks public assistance in identifying and locating the attacker.
