NYPD Cop Arrested and Charged with Strangulation

NEW YORK – An off-duty New York City Police Department officer, Elisamuel Samboy, aged 28, was arrested and charged with strangulation at around 3:10 am Saturday morning in Brooklyn.

The NYPD has confirmed that Officer Samboy was off duty at the time of the alleged crime. The department’s Internal Affairs Bureau is leading the investigation, and Officer Samboy has reportedly been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation..

Strangulation charges are severe, and if convicted, Officer Samboy could face significant jail time.

Samboy works in the 83rd Precinct and has been a police officer since 2021. He has no publicly known marks against his record as an officer prior to this incident.
