Overnight Thunderstorms Clear Up in Time for a Beautiful Beach Day on Sunday

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Residents and visitors to the Jersey Shore are advised to look for some unsettled weather conditions, as the local NWS office has forecasted a blend of showers, thunderstorms, and fog over the weekend.

The weather Saturday night brings a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 pm. Some of these storms could manifest with gusty winds and heavy rain, making travel potentially hazardous

Adding to the complexity of the night’s weather, patchy fog is expected to develop after 2 am.

The sky will remain mostly cloudy otherwise, with a low temperature settling around 71 degrees. Winds will be gentle from the south at around 5 mph.

The chance of precipitation stands at 30%, with new rainfall amounts likely to be less than a tenth of an inch, although higher amounts may be possible in thunderstorms.

The fog should begin to lift by Sunday morning, expected to clear before 9 am. Following that, the day promises mostly sunny skies, with a high temperature near a warm 89 degrees. The wind will shift to the west, blowing at 10 to 15 mph, offering some respite from the heat.

As the sun sets, Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 68 degrees. The west wind will reduce to around 5 mph, marking a calm end to the weekend.
