Two Men Arraigned on Charges of Sexual Assault in Westchester

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Westchester County District Attorney Miriam E. Rocah made public on Monday the arraignments of two individuals, Richard Olmino and Jose Mejia Lopez, following indictments charging them with sexually assaulting teenagers in separate incidents during June.

Richard Olmino, 21, from Port Chester, was indicted on multiple counts, including Attempted Rape, Criminal Sexual Act, and Robbery, among others.

The indictment alleges that Olmino sexually assaulted two teenagers during two different incidents in Rye, with the latest attack occurring on June 23. Evidence from this incident linked him to another assault on June 3. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 22.

In a separate indictment, Jose Mejia Lopez, 32, was charged with several offenses, including Sexual Abuse, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.

On June 22, Lopez allegedly attacked an 18-year-old at knifepoint in North White Plains. He is currently held at Westchester County Jail and will be in court on August 29.
