RICHLAND TOWNSHIP, PA – Nicholas Hummel, a 35-year-old resident of Farmhouse Lane, was sentenced to 18-40 years in state prison on Monday for the rape of a minor.

After the 13-year-old victim reported her ordeal to her school counselor in May 2022, investigations revealed that Hummel had been assaulting her since 2018.

Having entered an open guilty plea in March to a list of charges, Hummel has been designated as a sexually violent predator by Judge Jeffrey L. Finley.

Consequently, he will need to register as a sex offender for life and undergo continuous sex offender treatment.

While the victim wasn’t present at the sentencing, her impact statement detailing the anguish she suffered was presented for the court’s review.
