WARSAW, VA – An incident erupted Wednesday afternoon along Route 360 in front of the Warsaw Village Shopping Center in Richmond County.
As two vehicles traveled west near the Hardee’s intersection, what began possibly as a road-rage incident escalated into a fatal drive-by shooting, as confirmed by Richmond County Sheriff S. B. Smith.
Following the incident, road authorities closed Route 360 for an investigation. The ensuing situation caused traffic disruptions on the Downing Bridge, connecting Tappahannock and Richmond County.
Warsaw officials have advised residents and visitors to circumvent the area when possible.
