Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Rt 50 in Township of Hamilton

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Tuesday, at around 1:18 a.m., officers from the Township of Hamilton Police Department were dispatched to a collision on Rt 50 near Spruce Street.

A 2013 Honda Pilot, driven by Michael Jackson, 65, of Egg Harbor City, was heading north when pedestrian Jessica Lavin, 32, of Mays Landing, entered the road and was hit.

Lavin was rushed to the AtlantiCare City Division Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Assisting agencies included Galloway EMS and AtlantiCare Paramedics.

The Township of Hamilton Police Department is continuing the investigation. Witnesses are asked to contact the police department with any relevant information.
