Police Reunite Cat with Owners After Being Found in Stolen Car

MERIDEN, CT – A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a surprising reunion when Meriden Police discovered a gray-and-white male kitten hidden under a seat.

The pursuit began on August 10 when officers suspected the vehicle was used in multiple armed robberies in nearby communities. The chase ended with a collision between the stolen car and a patrol vehicle, leading to the arrest of six juvenile suspects.

Upon searching the vehicle for evidence, officers found the kitten and posted an appeal on the department’s Facebook page to locate the owner. While many contacted the authorities with offers to adopt the cat, a tip led police to the juvenile suspect’s mother, who confirmed ownership.

The suspect, who had remained silent about the pet, saw the kitten returned to his mother. The Meriden Police Department continues to investigate the incidents related to the stolen vehicle, and charges are pending.
