Near the crossroads of East Glenwood Avenue and Dan Street, just northeast of downtown, the two individuals became the targets of a drive-by shooting.

While navigating through the streets, a vehicle abruptly cut them off. Its occupants unleashed a hail of bullets on the victims before speeding away.

The younger male was rushed to the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital; he is expected to recover.

A house on Damon Street also fell victim to the stray bullets, although no further injuries were reported. The identities of the victims remain undisclosed, awaiting family notification.
