SOUTH RIVER, NJ – The South River Police Department warns residents of a new scam circulating on social media.

It specifically targets Spanish speakers.

The scam falsely claims the Department of Education is distributing free money.

The police strongly advise against clicking any related links or disclosing personal details.

Examples of the fraudulent messages have been included for public awareness.
