Mass Shooting at West Philadelphia Birthday Party

PHILADELPHIA, PA – An incident unfolded early Saturday morning in West Philadelphia, where a birthday party turned into a crime scene.

Police confirm that eight individuals were injured, and one man lost his life in a mass shooting. The victims include seven women and two men, aged between 17 and 51.

A 22-year-old witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, described the chaotic scene where attendees scrambled for safety upon hearing gunshots. She recounted how one of the injured women took cover alongside her during the ordeal.

Philadelphia Police responded to the location near Wyalusing Avenue and North Creighton Street around 1:30 am, prompted by numerous 911 calls.

According to Philadelphia Police Captain Anthony Mirabella Jr., the emergency services discovered close to 40 shell casings at the scene. Presently, the motive remains unclear, and no suspects have been detained in connection with the shooting.
