MIDDLETOWN, NJ – A Middletown police officer was recognized for his role in capturing suspects who robbed a gun shop earlier this year.

Middletown Township Police Department responded to a burglary at LugerMan Inc. gun store on May 30th, where three teenagers from Philadelphia had stolen 21 weapons and ammunition.

Officers Huff and Moors of MTPD immediately took action after being alerted to the incident, spotting a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. A chase ensued through Middletown and into Trenton, New Jersey, where Falls Township Officer Blickley partially disabled the fleeing vehicle using stop sticks.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle in Trenton, attempting to escape on foot. Middletown officers quickly established a perimeter, enabling Trenton PD to take over the foot pursuit.
