Hammer-Wielding Suspect Wanted for Armed Robbery in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A hammer-wielding suspect remains at large following an armed robbery yesterday evening at the 2400 block of Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest, D.C. Detectives from the Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.

The incident transpired at roughly 6:15 p.m. when the suspect entered an establishment, approached an employee, and demanded the cash register be opened, brandishing a hammer. The employee complied, and the suspect proceeded to take the money from the cash register and then fled the location.

A nearby surveillance camera recorded the suspect. Individuals who recognize this suspect or have information about the incident are urged to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or send a text to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411 without taking any further action.
