Arrest Made in Laurel Armed Carjacking

LAUREL, MD – Western District detectives are investigating an armed carjacking that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the Corridor Marketplace in Laurel.

The victim was sitting in his car when approached by two black male suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The suspects ordered the victim to leave the vehicle, taking it and fleeing the scene. The car was later located near Jill Lane and Ertter Drive, where officers found the suspects.

After a brief foot pursuit, one suspect was apprehended and found to be in possession of the victim’s cellphone.
