Car Thief Nabbed at King of Prussia Mall

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA – On Friday, the Upper Merion Township Police Department located a stolen vehicle in the Blue Parking Garage of the King of Prussia Mall around 7 pm.

The vehicle had been reported stolen by Norristown Police on the previous day.

Detectives surveilled the vehicle and approximately one hour later, three males were observed approaching it. As officers and detectives approached, the males fled on foot. One male was apprehended, while the other two managed to escape.

A witness alerted officers that one of the fleeing males had thrown a handgun under a vehicle. It was later determined that the weapon was a BB gun equipped with a laser aim point.

The two suspects who eluded capture have been identified as juveniles, and charges are pending against all three involved. The Upper Merion Township Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
