Multiple Shootings Reported in Yonkers Within 24 Hours

YONKERS, NY – A person was shot in both legs on the South Side of Yonkers on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place outside Palisade Towers at 1-8 Schroeder St. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

This shooting followed two other incidents that took place on Monday. The first occurred around 2 pm when a man was shot in the leg at his residence on West Delano Avenue.

He was taken to the hospital and is also expected to recover. Another shooting took place an hour later at the intersection of Riverdale Avenue and Morris Street, where multiple gunshots were fired.

The Yonkers Police Department recovered one shell casing at the Riverdale Avenue and Morris Street location. There were no injuries or property damage reported at this scene. Investigators have indicated that these shootings do not appear to be connected and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances around each incident.
