MANHATTAN, NY – Police responded to a distressing call on Wednesday, August 23, at approximately 1039 hours, discovering two deceased individuals inside an apartment located at 1623 3 Avenue, within the 19th Precinct.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 78-year-old female and a 78-year-old male, each with a gunshot wound to the head, inside a 7th-floor apartment. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced both individuals deceased. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The investigation is currently ongoing, and the identities of both deceased individuals are being withheld pending notification of the family. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
