What’s That Smell? Wharton Forest Fire Winds Shift

CHERRY HILL, NJ – A large brush fire in Wharton State Forest in Waterford Township is the source of a strong smoke odor permeating Cherry Hill Township.

Higher humidity and shifting winds have contributed to the smell in the surrounding areas. The fire is 95% contained at the time of reporting and should not cause concern within Cherry Hill.

Residents are reminded to call 911 if they see flames or smoke in their community.
