Man Dies After Being Shot in Franklin

FRANKLIN, VA – A 28-year-old man, identified as Joseph Foster Jr., died after being shot in Franklin early on Wednesday morning.

Franklin Police responded to a call about a suspicious person knocking on a door at the 1600 block of Dorchester Street.

Upon arrival, they discovered Foster suffering from a gunshot wound near the “K” building.

Franklin Fire and Rescue transported Foster to Bon Secours Southampton Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries.

The City of Franklin Police Department is investigating the incident. Further information is yet to be released.
