Man Shot in Syracuse’s Westside

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A 25-year-old man is in recovery at Upstate University Hospital after Syracuse Police responded to a shooting on the 200 block of Sackett Street.

The incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. last Thursday. Upon arrival, officers found the man suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back.

The victim was then transported to Upstate Hospital, where he is expected to survive. During the investigation, police recovered a bullet casing related to the shooting on the 900 block of Park Avenue.

The Syracuse Police Department continues to investigate the incident. They have not released any information on potential suspects at this time.

The department is urging anyone with relevant information to contact them. No arrests have been made in relation to the case.
