Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department has arrested two 16-year-old males on multiple charges including robbery, conspiracy, theft, and simple assault. The arrests were made in connection with a robbery that took place at the Tropicana Atlantic City on August 22, 2023.
According to authorities, patrol officers responded to the scene at 3:41 AM after receiving a report about a robbery. Upon arrival, they found that a woman had been assaulted and her pocketbook, which contained her car keys, was stolen. The suspects subsequently located the victim’s vehicle in the parking garage and stole it. The victim sustained minor injuries during the incident. Security personnel at Tropicana were able to provide pictures of the suspects.
On the following day, Officer George Mancuso discovered the stolen vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of Trenton and Boulevard Avenues. While officers waited for a tow truck, they noticed a group of males observing them. One of the males was arrested after officers confirmed his identity by reviewing surveillance pictures. The second suspect was arrested shortly after, as he was seen in the area watching police activity.
Both juveniles have been remanded to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Facility. It is important to note that charges are only allegations, and the accused individuals are considered innocent until proven guilty.
