Schenectady, NY – The Schenectady Police Department is currently investigating two suspected fatal overdoses, both believed to involve opioids. Officers responded to the first incident in the Mont Pleasant Neighborhood on Thursday night.

A second overdose occurred the following morning in the City’s Northside area.

Both cases are under active investigation by the department’s Special Investigations Unit and Detective Division. Authorities suspect that an opioid substance may have been involved in both fatalities.

This comes days after five more overdoses were reported last week here.

On Sunday, the Schenectady Police Department reported three suspected fatal overdoses in the Hamilton Hill/Vale region of the city.

Officers responded to the first incident on Sunday, with two more cases emerging on Tuesday morning. The incidents involved both injectable and smoked substances.

The Schenectady Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to contact their Tips Line at 518-788-6566.
