BUFFALO, NY – Amonti K. Atkins, a 23-year-old resident of Buffalo, was arraigned on Friday morning for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Gang Assault in the First Degree.

Buffalo City Court Judge Phillip Dabney, Jr. oversaw the proceedings. The alleged incident took place last Sunday, around 1:39 p.m. on the 1500 block of Broadway near Deshler Street.

It is alleged that Atkins, alongside co-defendants Amari K. Atkins, 27, and Demetrius F. Gore, 52, repeatedly stabbed, kicked, and punched a 41-year-old male victim.

The victim was transported to ECMC by ambulance and remains hospitalized with serious injuries. Earlier this week, both co-defendants were also arraigned before Judge Dabney on similar charges.

All three defendants are scheduled to return to court on Wednesday, August 30, for a felony hearing. They are currently held without bail. If convicted of the highest count, each defendant could face up to 25 years in prison.
