Woman Struck and Killed While Walking Dog in Cockeysville

COCKEYSVILLE, MD – Police from the Baltimore County Police Department are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Cockeysville.

At approximately 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, officers from Precinct 7 – Cockeysville responded to the 1900 block of Monkton Rd. for an injured pedestrian. Upon arrival, they found that 69-year-old Julie Klien-Whitmore had been struck by a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound.

Klien-Whitmore was walking her dog in a crosswalk with a family member when she was hit. The driver of the Silverado remained on the scene following the collision.

Klien-Whitmore was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after 1 p.m. on the same day. The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team.
