Newport News to Hold Annual 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony at CNU

Newport News, VA — Newport News Public Safety will host its annual ceremony to honor the lives lost and affected by the September 11, 2001, attacks. The ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, September 11, at the Gaines Theatre on the campus of Christopher Newport University (CNU).

New CNU President William Kelly is set to give the opening remarks, and Newport News Mayor Phillip Jones will serve as the keynote speaker. The Newport News Fire Department and Newport News Sheriff’s Office will also be in attendance.

The public is warmly invited to be part of this significant remembrance event.
