Police Arrest Man Breaking into ATM with Blowtorch

CUMBERLAND, MD – On Friday, Tanner Steven Schweinsburg, a 34-year-old resident of Cumberland, was arrested by the Cumberland Police Department for Destruction of Property and 1st Degree Arson.

Officers arrived at a local bank where Schweinsburg was observed attempting to break into an ATM machine using a blowtorch.

Upon arriving, officers noticed Schweinsburg striking the ATM with the torch. He initially approached the officers with the blowtorch but was restrained.

After a brief struggle, he was taken into custody and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently held without bond.

Schweinsburg faces charges of Destruction of Property and 1st Degree Arson. Those with relevant information are asked to call the Cumberland Police Department.
