Police Investigating Deadly Crash that Left Woman Dead in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, DE – A fatal collision occurred on Sunday morning on Dupont Boulevard, leaving one woman dead and several others injured.

At approximately 11:38 am, a 2007 Mazda 3 swerved into the northbound lanes, colliding with a 2019 Nissan Murano.

The front seat passenger of the Mazda, an 18-year-old woman from Ellendale, Delaware, was seriously injured and later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The driver of the Mazda, also from Ellendale, and a 4-year-old backseat passenger were hospitalized. The latter was later flown to another hospital for continued treatment. Both the driver and front seat passenger of the Nissan sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the incident.
