Albemarle County, VA – Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning at a residence on Cypress Pointe Drive.
Patrol officers responded to a reported stabbing at approximately 5 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered one deceased female inside the home. Another female was detained at the scene without incident. The identities of both parties are being withheld until next of kin are notified.
Initial information suggests that this was a domestic situation. Authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the community.
