Man Indicted for Assault on Suffolk County Cop After Pursuit

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the indictment of John Imbasciani, 45, of Mastic, for an incident occurring on August 17.

Imbasciani has been charged with multiple counts including Assault, Reckless Endangerment, and other related charges.

Imbasciani allegedly threw a full glass bottle at a uniformed Suffolk County Police Department officer. He then drove his vehicle into a police vehicle during the ensuing pursuit.

The collision caused damage to the police car and resulted in physical injuries requiring medical attention for the officer.

John Imbasciani was arraigned on Monday, before Acting Supreme Court Justice Richard I. Horowitz and was ordered held without bail. His next court date is set for October 10.
