Clarkstown NYS Reopened After Crash Near Overpass

CLARKSTOWN, NY – A hollow steel tower struck the southbound NYS Thruway overpass at around 6:45 this morning, leading to immediate lane closures and a pending inspection. The incident damaged the overpass girder beam and resulted in falling debris, necessitating the closure of the three left lanes to the TZ Bridge.

The Clarkstown Police Department has closed the Exit 10 on-ramp to the Thruway. Motorists can enter the Thruway at 11 SB and all ramps north of that location to head south.

The Exit 10 ramp was reopened later in the day, as announced by the Clarkstown Police Department. Authorities conducted a full inspection of the bridge to determine when the closed lanes can safely be reopened.
