Officers Recover Weapons at Destiny USA Mall

ONONDAGA COUNTY, NY – On Thursday, August 24, Officers responded to Destiny USA mall at around 5:50 p.m. following a report of a suspicious person with a weapon.

Thomas Flynn, 20, and a 17-year-old were apprehended.

Flynn was found to have a loaded HNR Sportsman .22 Long Rifle in his waistband. He also had a bag containing pocket knives, suboxone, ambien, and xanax.

The teen was found with a sawed-off shotgun in a backpack. Flynn has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a Weapon in the Second Degree, and a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. The 17-year-old faces several weapon and firearm charges as well.

Both are currently detained; Flynn at Onondaga County Justice Center and the teen at Hillbrook Detention Center.
