Stafford Police Remind Drivers of Road Safety as Back to School Nears

Red School bus Stop Sign out and flashing ** Note: Slight blurriness, best at smaller sizes

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ – Schools in and around Stafford Township are set to open one week from Wednesday.

The Stafford Township Police Department (STPD) has issued a traffic safety advisory asking drivers to be cautious, especially around bus stops and areas where sidewalks are not present.

Drivers are reminded that flashing red lights and an extended stop-arm on a school bus mean that children are boarding or alighting.

Vehicles must stop at a safe distance.

They may only proceed once the bus has resumed its journey and the red lights are no longer flashing.
