Camden Man Charged for Bronx Highway Murder

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the shooting that occurred on Sunday, August 20, at 200 East Mosholu Parkway in the Bronx.

The arrest took place on Thursday, August 31, at approximately 5:33 p.m. within the 52nd Precinct.

The victim, 36-year-old Phillip Martinez of 3155 Rochambeau Avenue, Bronx, NY, was initially in stable condition after being shot in the head. He was transported by EMS to Saint Barnabas Hospital but was pronounced deceased on Wednesday, August 23.

Jason Soto, a 44-year-old male from 3141 Saunders Street, Camden, NJ, has been arrested and charged with murder and manslaughter in connection to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
