Two Teens Among Three Charged in Bayonne Shooting

BAYONNE, NJ – Jancarlos Rivera, 18, of Bayonne, and two juveniles, ages 17, were arrested following an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on Saturday, August 20.

The Bayonne Police Detective Bureau led the investigation.

Witnesses reported multiple shots fired around 21st Street and Avenue E. A parked vehicle and a local business sustained damage. Rivera and the two juveniles were identified as the individuals involved in the shooting.

Rivera was taken into custody on Monday, August 22. The two juveniles were arrested on subsequent days, and firearms were recovered from their residences. One of the firearms was confirmed stolen out of Norfolk, VA.

Charges against the individuals include Aggravated Assault, Recklessly Endangering, and various weapons charges. The Bayonne Police Department asked anyone with information to contact them.
