Man Arrested After Posting Stolen Tools for Sale on Facebook

GLEN BURNIE, MD – On Tuesday, at around 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a theft from an auto report in the 800 block of Elfin Court.

The victim identified his stolen tools on Facebook Marketplace and arranged a meeting with the suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Rasheed El’Hamid Franklin of Severn, Maryland.

Upon meeting, officers arrested Franklin after the victim positively identified his stolen property.

Further investigation led detectives to a storage unit in the 200 block of 8th Avenue, where additional stolen items were found. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are pending.

Franklin has been charged and is currently in custody. The Eastern District Police Department is handling the investigation and ask anyone with information to come forward.
