Man Arrested for Failing to Appear in Court in Fruitland

FRUITLAND, MD – On Tuesday, at around 5:23 pm, CPD officers located Briece Antwoine Joynes, a 42-year-old resident of Fruitland, in the 500 block of Academy St.

Joynes had an active Somerset County District Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on August 7, on an original charge of theft less than $100.

Joynes was arrested and transported to CPD for processing. Following his initial court appearance, he was transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections and is being held with no bond.

The original charge against Joynes was for theft less than $100. The warrant was activated after he failed to appear in court on the specified date.

Joynes is currently awaiting further court proceedings. He is held at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections with no bond.
