Evesham Man Found Guilty of Stabbing Man and His Dog

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ – A 26-year-old Evesham man, Donovan G. Hollingsworth, was found guilty of fatally stabbing a friend and his dog in early 2022.

The jury returned guilty verdicts on charges including Murder (First Degree) and Robbery (First Degree). Sentencing is scheduled for October 27 at the Burlington County Courthouse in Mount Holly.

The investigation began on February 5, 2022, when Evesham Township Police Department officers responded to a report at the Olympus Apartments on Baker Boulevard.

They found Thomas Pierson III, 26, deceased with multiple stab wounds. His dog, a Cane Corso named Django, was also found dead.

Hollingsworth was arrested a few hours later at Virtua Voorhees Hospital where he sought treatment for minor injuries.
