Rip Currents Pull Six Swimmers into Ocean in Seaside Heights; One Missing

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – A swimmer is missing following an incident where a rip current pulled six individuals into the ocean off Stockton Avenue beach on Sunday evening.

A 24-year-old male, whose identity is not yet disclosed by authorities, was among those affected by the current around 6:30 p.m. Red flags indicating a rip current warning were displayed at the time, according to police.

Of the six swimmers, five were successfully retrieved from the water. The search for the missing 24-year-old is still underway.

Multiple agencies, including the United States Coast Guard, are contributing to ongoing search and rescue operations. The relationships among the six swimmers remain uncertain at this time.
