Man Shot and Killed in Southeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are looking into a homicide that took place last Friday in the 5100 block of Astor Place, Southeast.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., members of the Sixth District arrived at the scene following a report of a shooting. Officers found an adult male who had been shot. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services confirmed the victim showed no signs of life and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Mannin Quarles, a resident of Southeast, DC. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further examination.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the homicide.
