New Jersey Woman Arrested in Midtown Slashing

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A 52-year-old woman, Ola Albanni of Hoboken, NJ, has been arrested in connection with an assault that took place on Friday.

At approximately 6:10 pm, a 65-year-old female was walking in front of 555 8th Avenue when she was approached by Albanni, who slashed her face with a large kitchen knife. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai West in stable condition.

Albanni was arrested on Sunday, at 8:30 am and has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. She is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

The victim sustained a laceration under her left eye but is in stable condition. No further details about the incident have been released at this time.
