Silver Spring Man Shot and Killed in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide that occurred on Friday, in the 100 block of Farragut Street, Northwest.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Richard Ruffin, III, of Silver Spring, MD.

At approximately 11:09 p.m., officers from the Fourth District responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Ruffin with no signs consistent with life. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia.
