D.C. Stabbing Victim Dies in Hospital

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Marcus Thurman, 30, succumbed to his injuries on Monday after being stabbed in Northeast D.C. on August 22nd.

At 5:09 a.m., officers arrived at the 100 block of M Street, responding to a stabbing report. They found Marcus Thurman with a stab wound. Emergency services took Thurman to a local hospital, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. His death was confirmed on September 4th.

Stephen Herring, 22, with no fixed address, was arrested on the day of the incident and initially charged with Assault with Intent to Kill While Armed. The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch is coordinating with the United States Attorney’s Office to upgrade the charges against Herring.
