US Senate will move ahead on spending package as soon as next week

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The U.S. will move forward on a package of appropriations bills to avert a possible government shutdown “as early as next week,” the key Senators Democrat Patty Murray and Republican Susan Collins said in a statement on Wednesday.
