TRENTON, NJ – Roberto Blas and John Alicea, both 19, were arrested by the Trenton Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit last Friday.

At around 1:07 a.m., detectives stopped a suspicious vehicle parked at the side of 756 Edgewood Avenue. They observed the occupants shoving and reaching under their seats.

Upon investigation, detectives found Blas concealing a clear bag of heroin. A search of the vehicle revealed two handguns under the seats, both loaded with high-capacity magazines containing hollow-point rounds. Alicea attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

Both men face charges of weapons and controlled dangerous substance offenses. The weapons recovered include a black Taurus Millennium G2 9mm and a silver & black Polymer 80 .40 caliber semi-automatic handguns.

The Trenton Police Department asked anyone with additional information to contact them directly. Charges are pending, and both men are considered innocent until proven guilty.
