WILDWOOD CREST, NJ – On Wednesday, August 30, at 10:23 pm, officers from the Wildwood Crest Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop for an equipment violation.

During the stop, a black handgun was observed in the glove compartment of the vehicle.

The firearm was claimed by the vehicle owner, Evanna Outterbridge, 27, of Philadelphia, PA. Ms. Outterbridge could only provide a Pennsylvania Permit to Carry.

She was subsequently arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and unlawful possession of a high-capacity magazine. She was released on a summons in accordance with Attorney General Guidelines.

The Wildwood Crest Police Department emphasizes the importance for gun owners to be aware of local gun laws when traveling, noting that a Permit to Carry is typically valid only in the state in which it was issued.
