New York City Police Department

BRONX, NY – Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced that a Bronx judge has dismissed the last of 324 cases connected to former NYPD Detective Joseph Franco.

Franco was terminated in April 2020 for making false statements about narcotics arrests, leading to a comprehensive review by the Conviction Integrity Bureau.

The dismissed cases were charged between 2011 and 2015.

Those cases included various offenses such as Criminal Facilitation and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The review was conducted by Assistant District Attorney Risa Gerson, Chief of the Conviction Integrity Bureau, and Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Russell.
