Man Arrested for Grand Larceny at Utica Hardware Store

UTICA, NY – On Tuesday at approximately 5:50 PM, Utica Police units were dispatched to the Doyle Hardware Apartment building regarding a theft from a vehicle.

A witness reported seeing a male entering a vehicle, removing property, and then fleeing the scene.

With the assistance of the witness and Kunkel Ambulance employees, officers located and detained the suspect, identified as Darrell Rude, 36, with no last known address.

Stolen items were found discarded along Rude’s route of travel.

He was transported to the Utica Police Department and charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth degree.
